This unit develops knowledge and application of the health and safety legislation and practice specific to the oil and gas industry and methods of minimising risks and hazards.

 

 

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Describe the safety measures to be taken when working with electrical equipment.
  • Identify the role and implementation of health and safety legislation and procedures in the oil and gas industry.
  • Describe hazards associated with the workshop environment and the control measures used to minimise risks.
  • Carry out risk assessments for routine maintenance tasks.
  • Health and safety legislation and practice.

 

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures. 
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
