This course develops the skills and knowledge required to work safely in an oil and gas processing environment. 

It is designed for individuals wishing to progress to a career as a Process Technician and also would also be relevant for individuals who would like to develop a basics understanding of, and/or some basic skills in, processing operations e.g., Maintenance Technicians.

 

 

Learning Objectives : 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

  • Outline the function of schematics and process flow diagrams for oil and gas processing operations 
  • Identify the meanings of codes and symbols used on schematics and process flow diagrams  
  • Identify the flow path for sections of process plant for oil and gas processing operations 
  • Interpret schematics and process flow diagrams for sections of process plant for oil and gas processing operations 

 

Prerequistes : 

There are no specific entry requirements however, it is recommended that learners complete the OPITO Global Foundation Training Certificate: Introduction to Oil and Gas Processing or equivalent training before undertaking this training certificate. 

 

Teaching methods :

  • The course will be delivered by means of classroom lectures and skills training exercises 
  • Workshop practice content: not required for this course. 
  • Pre & post course tests are performed to measure knowledge acquisition.
